NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Greetings and Happy New Year!!

Many of us decide to make positive changes in our lives on New Year's Day.
We make those famous New Year's Resolutions!

Of course positive changes are always a good thing. But we don't have to wait until January 1st to make those changes. And if at some point, we get off the track we intended to be on, we don't have to wait until the following new year to get back on track.

God is always waiting for us to decide to turn our lives around and our attention to Him.
He doesn't make us wait until the beginning of the calendar year.
When we do look towards Him for a new beginning, whenever or wherever it happens, He is right there with encouragement, support and guidance!

As I look back on 2008, I am ever so grateful for God's saving grace!
I made a fresh new start in my life back in July of 2008...when I chose to welcome God back into my life. I decided to leave behind the empty life I was living...and turned instead to God's daily supply of love and joy!

I pray that those of you who don't know Jesus as your personal savior, would come to accept this wonderful gift this year! If you are not sure how, you can post a comment here to ask me and I will happy to explain it to you.

If you have already been saved, I pray you continue to renew your relationship with God daily, so it will strengthen and grow and be fruitful!

God bless you and your family!
Jennie

SAND AND STONE

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING
THROUGH THE DESERT.
DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY,

THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT;

AND ONE FRIEND
SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE
IN THE FACE

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT,
BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING,
WROTE IN THE SAND,
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE

THEY KEPT ON WALKING UNTIL

THEY FOUND AN OASIS
WHERE THEY DECIDED
TO TAKE A BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED
GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE

AND STARTED DROWNING.
BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED
FROM
THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE:
'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SAVED MY LIFE'

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED
AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU,
YOU WROTE IN THE SAND
AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?'

THE FRIEND REPLIED
'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US
WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND,
WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS
CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES
SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,
WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE
WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT'

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS
IN T HE SAND

AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS
IN STONE.

Merry Christmas!!

**MERRY CHRISTMAS**

[]

MERRY CHRISTMAS....

On the way home last night, I was listening to the radio
when a newscaster called his little 91 year old granny to
talk to her about the 'Holidays'. He mentioned that he
had noticed that Christmas has become so
'politically correct'
that no mention of Christmas is made by most retailers,
we now wish people 'Happy Holidays.'

His granny said she missed the
Old Fashioned Christmas when everyone wished
each other 'Merry Christmas'.

I thought about it and agree...so this year
I will be making a conscious effort
to wish everyone Merry Christmas...
my way of saying that
I am celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
If you agree with me, to please do the same.

...maybe we can
prevent one more treasured tradition from being lost in the sea of 'Political Correctness.'

God Bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation

THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our heart s today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

SALVATION

Greetings!

My wish for all of my family and friends is that they would have a personal relationship with God...to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and to be assured they will spend eternity in Heaven!

If you are not sure if you have this relationship with God and the certainty of your future home in Heaven, then read the below message. Once you read it, you can choose to have this wonderful joyous new found life in Christ, just by accepting His gift!

1. God Loves You!
The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"

The problem is that . . .
2. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong.
This is called sin, and our sins have separated us from God.
The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever.
The Bible says "The wages of sin is death."

The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago,
3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
"God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us."

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father.
He offers us the gift of eternal life -- of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name."
You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.

4. If you want to accept Christ as Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:
"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."

Dancing With God

Greetings!
I received this beautiful message today and thought I would share.

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing 'dance' at the end of the word and I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw 'G': I thought of God, followed by 'u' and 'i'. 'God, 'u' and 'i' dance.'
God, You and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life and once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God,
Trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

And I Hope You Dance!

Have a wonderful day!
God loves you!!

POSITIVE THOUGHTS

Greetings friends and family!!

I found this great message at work and wanted to share it with everyone!

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends your flowers every spring,
and a new sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He could live anywhere in the universe,
and He chose your heart!
What about the Christmas give He sent you in Bethlehem,
not to mention that Friday at Calvary.
Face it, He is crazy about you!

Have a wonderful day!
Jesus loves you!

SIN NO MORE

Greetings!

Oh how it hurts when our children go the wrong way and cause themselves to suffer.
It’s pierces our hearts and causes such pain.
We have showered them with our love and care.

Forgiven them time and time again.
Tried to teach them right from wrong.
Yet they still turn away from us and go astray.

It is during my agonizing over my children, that I realize how painful it must also be for God when we turn from Him and his instruction.

How infinitely more is His love for us….His grace and mercy are abundantly given to us….and yet we still turn from Him daily, through our sin and disobedience.

I feel the pain and it hurts so much….and I can’t even imagine His pain that I cause Him….
I am so much more sorry and eager to repent of my sin, when I realize this.

As Jesus told the women at the well....
John 8:11 - And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." NKJ
In the NIV Bible it is translated as "Now go and leave your life of sin"

When we become a child of God, we are to become a new person, leaving our old ways behind.

My desire is to "sin no more"...and I hope yours is too.

Have a wonderful day!

YOUR VALUE

The Value Is the Owner, by Alan Smith

The story is told of an American tourist in Paris who picked up an
amber necklace in a trinket shop. When he arrived at New York and went through customs he was shocked at the high duty he had to pay for
the necklace. So when he came home, he spoke with a jeweler and the
jeweler told him he would give $25,000 for the necklace. The man was
stunned and suspected that there was a reason for the offer. So he
took the necklace to an expert who appraised it at an astronomical amount.

When he asked the appraiser what made the necklace so valuable, he
told him to look into the magnifying glass and see for himself. When
he placed his eye next to the glass, he saw an inscription which read:
"From Napoleon to Josephine." It was the name on the necklace that
gave it extraordinary worth.

We have no intrinsic value above others -- that is to say, we are not
of great value because of who we are or what we've accomplished. Our
value is determined by the One who made us, bought us, and owns us.
Those of us who are Christians have the name of Christ "stamped" on
our lives to remind us who we are and whose we are. Knowledge of this
truth causes us to rethink what we do with our lives.

Look closely at the inscription on your life.

For example, if you have an old pair of ragged tennis shoes, you may
think nothing of getting out in a muddy garden to do some work. But if
you're wearing an expensive pair of dress shoes, you'll be hesitant to
wear them in the mud. The value of what you're wearing will keep you
from going certain places and doing certain things.

Paul says that's why we as Christians should avoid sexual immorality
(as well as other misuses of the body). If our bodies were of little
value (as some believe), we would think nothing of "dragging them
through the mud." But knowing the value of our bodies, we're forced to
think twice about where we go and what we do. Paul puts it this way:

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body
and in your spirit, which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV).

Look closely at the inscription on your life. You'll notice the name
of the One who bought you and owns you. Your value just went up!

PSALM 139

Greetings!

I read Psalm 139 this week, and found it to be a wonderful description of the intimate relationship between us and our creator and Father in heaven.

And reading it out loud makes it even more moving....

I hope you enjoy it.

Psalm 139: 1-18
A psalm of David.
O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.

You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my every thought when far away.

You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest.
Every moment you know where I am.

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.
You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know!
I can never escape from your spirit! I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the place of the dead, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are both alike to you.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous – and how well I know it.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable!
I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me!

Have a wonderful day!!

PRAYER WORKS

Greetings friends!

I apologize for being absent lately....I have been very busy!
But trust that my time has been well spent.... diving deep into God's word and growing closer to Him everyday!!

I have shared this message recently with some of my friends and family...but wanted to post it to share with others too.

I keep a journal that I write my prayers in. It contains all the things I pray to God about.

The first thing I do when I pray is praise and thank God...so I have a list of all the things I am thankful for. Then I move on to asking for forgiveness for my sins...and after that, I start asking for help with many situations in my own life and for family and friends I know....among other things.

I originally started the journal to help me to remember all the people and situations I wanted to pray for, since the list is quite long...I wanted to make sure I don't forget anything or anyone...

But recently, I started looking back to the pages when I first started the journal, which was two years ago.....and I discovered a whole new purpose for the journal. As I looked at things I prayed for in 2006, I realized that some of those prayers have been answered! It was amazing!

So this now serves as my record of prayers the Lord has answered....which becomes a testimony to share with others that prayer works!!

Remember, payers are not always answered with "yes", but God always responds to them with the right answer, which is best for His plan for our lives!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ---- Philippians 4:6

Have a wonderful day!!!

LIFE OF JOY

Greetings!

Sorry for being absent lately....just been very busy.
But trust that my time has been well spent, growing in my faith and growing closer to God each day!

I have made a decision to follow God all the days of my life.
To walk with Him, pray to Him, worship Him, study His word, share His word with others and live my life the way He wants me to.

Since I have began this new journey four months ago, my life has changed in so many wonderful ways!! (Actually it began at my birth, but I have taken several detours of my own....) But I am back on the right path now, and pray everyday that I never get off it again!

My husband and I are now filled with a new peace and joy...so much that it is overflowing into the lives of our children. They see it and want it too and now they have also grown closer to God! There is a bright beautiful light that is beaming from all of us that everyone outside our family can see.
That light is Jesus!

My prayer everyday is for all my friends and family to experience this joy also!
The joy of God's love, comfort, grace, forgiveness and mercy! And the ultimate joy of the promise of spending eternity in Heaven with God, by choosing Jesus as your personal savior!

Wishing wonderful things for you everyday!!

Operation Christmas Child

Greetings!

Each year, our family gives a needy child a Christmas gift.
It's a shoe box with some small gifts inside.

We make this donation through a program called Operation Christmas Child.
It's a wonderful cause and easy to do.
Below is a link to their website, it explains how you can donate.
I recommend looking at their videos, so you can see what your gift can do.

I hope you enjoy giving, I know we do!

FIREPROOF

Greetings!

Sorry for not blogging lately...have just been very busy.

My husband and I went to see a great movie with some members of our church and it was awesome!

It's called Fireproof. It's about a married couple struggling and on the verge of divorce.

It's a movie with christian values and a great message! It is funny, exciting and clean (refreshing!)

A must see for every couple, even if your relationship seems great, this movie will show you how to bring more joy into it! And if your relationship is not so great, this will help to save it, if you listen to the message with an open heart and mind.

I hope everyone has a chance to see it and enjoys it as much as we did!

GOD'S LOVE

Greetings!

The person you are now, the person you have been, the person you will be....
This person God has chosen and beloved. -- William Countryman

The Lord Said, "I have loved you with an everlasting love."
Jeremiah 31:3

There is only one love that comes with lifetime guarantee...actually it lasts even longer than your lifetime. That's the love of God.

Knowing that God's love for you is unshakeable gives you the confidence to be yourself. You are wholly accepted, fully forgiven, and eternally loved. What response does thinking about that truth evoke in your heart?

Have a wonderful day!

SUN AND SHIELD

Greetings!

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (Psalm 84:11).

God has a heart to pour out His favor and goodness in your life. He longs to be your sun and shield.

What does the sun do for us? It lights our way, it keeps us warm, it nourishes the plants of the earth so that we can have food.

The earth is sustained by its relationship to the sun, and God wants to sustain you through your relationship with Him.

He wants to be your shield of protection against all the fiery darts of the enemy.
He wants to light and direct your path.

Are you ready to receive Him as your sun and shield today?
Have you been relying on something or someone else to be your protection or give you direction? If you have, decide today to put down whatever you’ve been putting your trust in and choose to lean on your heavenly Father.

Open your heart and receive all He has for you.
Receive His favor, blessing and protection today.
As you do, you’ll see your path shine brighter and brighter, and you’ll move forward in the life of victory the Lord has prepared for you!

Have a wonderful day!!

JOY

Greetings and Happy Monday!

Joy is an unceasing fountain bubbling up in the heart;
A secret spring the world can't see and doesn't know anything about.
Dwight Lyman Moody

Joy is not necessarily wild exuberance, but rather a steady, enduring inner happiness.
It is anchored in God, who is seated high above the circumstances in your life!
As long as you are holding on to Him, you can be joyful, even in the midst of sadness and distress.

Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in Him!
Philippians 4:4

I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week filled with joy!

WONDEROUS BLESSINGS

Good evening!
I know it's late-evening blogging....but I always say, better late than never!

Today I want to share the awesome blessings God has been pouring into our family and my life lately!

He has moved into our house and is performing miracles each and everyday....and I am full of joy and peace and so very grateful for all He is and all He does!

As so beautifully put by my husband, He doesn't come into our lives and bless us unless we invite Him to do so...we must spend time with Him daily...and give over the control of our lives to Him. When we are faithful to Him, then He is then faithful to us.

God is always near and ready to jump in and pour on the blessings, but we must seek Him and choose to walk with Him on the path He has made for us.

Think of a gas station. It has plenty of gas, but if you don't go there to get filled up, you won't have any gas to go anywhere!

My husband and I attended a marriage conference this weekend at our church and it was wonderful how God through this event, has begun to enrich our marriage even more than it was before! I am so thankful to God for the husband he has blessed my life with, whom I cannot imaging my life without!

We also enjoyed great fellowship with family and friends with whom we shared our joyous experiences with...in hope to be a blessing to their lives through God.

And if that wasn't enough, our entire family (all six of us) went together to church today! This in itself was wonderful and amazing!! And then during the pastor's invitation to have a personal relationship with Jesus, my older son chose to accept Jesus as his Savior! This was an awesome, precious and beautiful moment! So much joy...indescribable!

I wish you all a wonderful evening, and a beautiful Monday...the beginning of a new week, with potential to start new things, good things and new found joy!

HELP AND STRENGTH

Greetings!

Sorry for not blogging yesterday!

I had a very difficult task I needed to perform, one which made my whole body shake in nervousness while getting prepared for it.

But then I remembered that the Holy Spirit is inside me and Jesus is right beside me, helping me to do anything I need. In an instant, I was calm and strong!

For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need -- Philippians 4:13

ROAD TO SUCCESS

Greetings!

The road to success is not straight.

There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs.

But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. --- Philippians 4:13

Have a wonderful day!

HANDLING ADVERSITY

Greetings!!

When you go through hard times, how do you react and what effect does it have you? How do you handle adversity?

Do you seem seem strong, but with pain and adversity do you wilt and become soft and lose your strength?

Do you have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, become hardened and stiff? Does your outside look the same, but on the inside you are bitter and tough with hardened heart?

Or when things are at their worst, do you get better and change the situation around you? When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Have a wonderful day!!

GENTLENESS

Greetings!!

Sorry for being absent for a few days...we have been painting a couple of rooms in our house for a few days...so it's been exhausting, to say the least!

I am so thankful this morning that our God is who He is! He is always near, always present and always ready to help and comfort us with whatever we need, be it large or small!

I lost my patience this morning and spoke unkind words....
Then I open up my daily devotional book, and He gently speaks to me through His word to remind me of a better way...

Let your gentleness be known to everyone. Philippians 4:5

God, though all-powerful, is also gentle. When we choose not to force our plans, opinions, or desires upon others, we imitate Him. When we return a gentle word for a harsh one or offer a tender embrace to a troubled heart, we are showing the world that we are our Father's children.

Power can do by gentleness, what violence fails to accomplish. Latin Proverb

Have a wonderful day!

BEAUTIFUL CREATION

Greetings!

I was reminded today of the awe and wonder of this beautiful earth that God created for us. There was an awesome sunset yesterday, and as most of you know, I LOVE sunsets...and I often take pictures of them.

I love sunsets, and landscapes, trees, flowers, oceans, mountains, beaches and clouds! I appreciate and enjoy seeing the beautiful picture God paints for us each day!

When you really sit an ponder on this creation, it really is amazing and you realize there is no other explanation except that God created this universe!

Included here is a picture of a sunset I took. Just look at the majesty reflected in this picture....It could not have come to be any other way!

I am so thankful everyday for not only the beauty, but also the elements that this earth holds that sustain our life here on this planet.

Hope you catch a great sunset today...or some other beauty to enjoy!

HONESTY

Greetings and what a glorious day!

Honesty has a beautiful and refreshing simplicity about it.
No ulterior motives. No hidden meanings. Charles R. Swindoll

So true!!
God wants us to speak the truth to others.
Do so and you'll have a reputation of being honest.
Life will be simpler. Best of all, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you're living a life that honors God.

Speak each man the truth to his neighbor. Zechariah 8:16

Have a wonderful day!

Effects of THE SHACK....

Sorry for not blogging yesterday...was not feeling well.

Good glorious morning to you!!

After reading The Shack, I've had a wonderful revelation! Some of the pains we experience in life are unexplainable, and unavoidable. God does not cause them or desire them for us. But he is always with us, ready to comfort us during these times.

I have had a "thorn" in my heart for many years and I always ask God to heal it. I have always been thankful for all the blessings in my life...I am very blessed! But I always have my "thorn" in my mind and it constantly weighs heavy on my heart. But now I have realized that God's grace is sufficient for me and I have taken on a greater appreciation for all my blessings! The burden of the pain from my "thorn" has been lifted and I have given it to God. I am sure it somehow will serve a purpose in God's greater plan and will glorify his kingdom!

My situation reminds me of Paul's as in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given to me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take if away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness". Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

It' a wonderful gift God gives us, to take these burdens from us!

Have a blessed day!

THE SHACK

Greetings!

Sorry for blogging so late....very busy weekend!

I just want to tell everyone about a WONDERFUL book I just read, called The Shack, by William P. Young. My sister Andrea sent it to me and I thank her so much for this precious gift!

The book made me feel as if I were having a conversation with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit right in my own living room...while sharing a cup of coffee with them...so to speak. It has opened my eyes to their very near presence in my life every minute of every hour of every day! It is God sitting down with you and explaining all about himself to you...through a personal conversation that is indescribable!

It's an amazing book and I encourage everyone to read it, you will not be disappointed in least, I promise!

You can go to the website before buying it and read the front cover, back cover, forward and even the first chapter. www.theshackbook.com

I really hope you get a chance to read this great book!

Have a wonderful evening!

HEAVEN

Greetings!

I find it divinely interesting that I posted a message on Tuesday about focusing on God and heaven above...and then last night (Wed) our church service study was all about heaven!!

The message in last night's service was awesome and beautiful! The promise of such a wonderful place is so comforting...well to those of us who are going there anyway!

I know I am going there, do you?
If you're not sure, you can ask me. Just e-mail me or write a comment and I will tell you how you can know for sure you are going there when you leave this world.

The Bible says that heaven and hell are real places and you will go to one or the other...there is no other alternative. I hope all of you choose the better place!

Have a wonderful day!

BE THANKFUL

Greetings!

I cannot express enough how important thankfulness is!
Focusing on what we are thankful for everyday will change your life!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

FOCUS ABOVE

Greetings!

Everyone knows the saying; "get your head out of the clouds"

Well, I say we should do the opposite!
We need to keep our head in the clouds....looking up to God in Heaven, I mean!

Keep your eyes, mind, heart and spirit focused on God and you will be blessed beyond your belief!

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Gratitude Statement:
I am thankful for feeling good today! Yesterday I was not feeling well.

Have a wonderful day!!

PERSEVERANCE

Greetings!

Continuing on the same message from yesterday,
perseverance is key to your personal growth!

Romans 5:3-5
...but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because
we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and character, hope.
And hope does not disappoint us...

Have a wonderful day!!

MAKING, NOT BREAKING

Greetings, I hope you all have the realization that today is a wonderful and glorious day! We are alive and well! How great is that!

I realized that I have neglected to list each day what I am thankful for....
Well, everyday I am grateful to be alive, to have a job, to have a roof over my head and a car, wonderful family and friends, live in a free country...and the list goes on.

But today I specifically thankful that I had the energy and opportunity to get lots of things done that I needed to do this weekend. I am thankful, that so far, it looks like hurricane Ike will not directly hit us, and I am thankful for another beautiful day that has begun, with a chance for a new start to make improvements and make an impact in this world!

I have to say Happy Birthday to my sister Andrea!! I love you sis and hope you have a great day...even though you are at work.

I heard a great quote from our pastor in church today;
"The thing that breaks you, will ultimated make you!"
There is so much truth in this, and I can testify to it personally several times over....just like the saying "that what does not kill us makes us stronger". The trials we go through and the way we handle them and come out of them have a great deal to do with making us who we are and what we are made of!

Have a wonderful day!
PS: I did post on Friday, but it was very late at night, in case you didn't see it and thought there wasn't one....its not a message, but a great video of Kaitlyn...again, can't help sharing her with others, she's just too cute!!

GIVING AWAY YOUR TROUBLES

If you put your life in God's hands and trust Him completely
with everything, here is what He will say to you each day:

This is God. Today I will be handling All of your
problems for you. I do not need your help. So, have a nice day.
I love you.
And, remember...
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you
cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself!
Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for
God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME.
All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it
by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful
things that are present in your life now.

Now, you have a nice day.
God

This is so true! I have experienced this many times in my
life...it's amazing how He takes all our burdens on Himself!
And you feel a great weight lifted....I know it's hard to let go, we
cling to our troubles as if they keep us afloat, but letting go
and giving it all to Him is like floating above all the mess and just
experiencing His grace and peace, you'll know what I
mean when you get there...it's indescribable!

Have a wonderful day!

ACCEPTANCE

Greetings!

Many people search their entire lives for the acceptance of others. They strive to wear the right clothes, do the right things, speak the right words --all in an attempt to make others like them.

If you are one of those people, then you are searching for something you already have.
God created you, and He accepts you just the way you are. There is nothing you can do or say or think that will make Him love you more than He already does.

It's all right to want others to like you--but you aren't likely to find what you really desire until you see yourself as God sees you.

Acceptance means you are valuable just as you are.
It allows you to be the real you. By Gladys M. Hunt

ENCOURAGEMENT

Greetings and happy Wednesday!

I have come to love Wednesdays!! We have starting attending a new church service on Wednesdays, at His House in Carol City, which is a new ministry of New Testament Baptist Church. The pastor, Dan King, is truly appointed and anointed by God! God is present, up front and center at each service and sending us His word loud and clear! I encourage anyone who has a chance, to come and visit, you will be blessed! They have services on Wednesdays at 7pm and Sundays at 10:30am and are located at 20000 NW 47th Ave. Hector Bldg.#2.

The human spirit can gain new hope from an encourage word.
  • Lend a listening ear
  • Pause to pray specifically
  • Speak a word of encouragement

START ANEW

Greetings!

With each sunrise, we start anew.

God is the author of fresh starts and brand-new beginnings. When you choose to follow Him, your life is transformed from the inside out. You are a totally new person, with new priorities, new power, new purpose and a new eternal destiny.

If anyone belongs to Christ, then he is made new.
The old things have gone; everything is made new! All this is from God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18

What wonderful news!!

COMPASSION AND LOVE

Happy Labor Day!! Hope you are blessed with the day off and you are enjoying it!!

I found this great poem below from an unknown author.

Just to be tender, just to be true,
Just to be glad the whole day through,
Just to be merciful, just to be mild,
Just to be trustful as a child:
Just to be gentle and kind and sweet,
Just to be helpful with willing feet,...
Just to let love be our daily key,
That is God's will for you and me.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1 John 4:11

P - G - A

Greetings!!

I am reading a great book right now:
Living a Life on Loan - Finding Grace at the Intersections
By Rick Rusaw and Eric Swanson

It has a formula or tool to help you prioritize your busy schedules and manage your time. It helps you to spend your time more effectively. So I thought I would share it.
It is called P-G-A

P is for Purpose.
Make purpose statements, to give a general sense of direction you are heading.
Make "to-be" statements.
For example; "I want to be a more effective leader" or "I want to be a better spouse"

G is for Goals
Goals are to-do statements.
Goals will help add some focus and clarity to your purpose statements. They are like a road map for the general direction you want to go. Goals also give you a way to measure the progress of your purpose.
If one of your purpose statements is "I want to become a better father", then you need to say "To be a better father, there are are some things I need to do. Then make some goal statements, like;
  • "Beginning on Sept. 1st, I will spend Tuesday nights from 6pm to 9pm doing something with my daughter that she wants to do (besides watch TV)"
  • "In Jan, I will take my sons on a 2 day ski trip"
  • "Each morning I will spend 10 minutes praying for each of my children about something specific going on in their lives"

A is for Activities
Now that you have made your purpose and goal statements. You need to make a list of all the things you are doing.
Then ask your self "Am I doing what I said I wanted to do to become what I said I wanted to become?"
If not, then ask yourself why. Make sure your activities help you to fulfill your goals and purpose.

Write your PGA down and review it regularly and it will help you to use your time with what matters to you most!

Have a wonderful day!

CALM DURING THE STORM

Greetings!!

I have gone through many changes throughout my life and lived different lifestyles.

There were periods of self destruction when I turned my back on God.
Then there were times when I walked with Him daily and devoted my life to him.

There is no comparison between these two lifestyles.
One is filled with love, joy, happiness, peace, strength and wisdom.
The other is only darkness hidden by false pretenses.

There are many wonderful things that come from a life spent living with Jesus in your heart....many of which I can testify to....

Here is just one that I have found to be true time and time again.
There can be a "hurricane" of a storm in my life, but yet there is calm and peace and joy inside of me and I am not rattled by the chaos going on around me.

God holds your hand and comforts you every step of the way and takes the burden for you. You trust Him to take care of the problem and give it to Him and in return, He give you peace....knowing it's in His hands. And after it passes, the sun will shine down on you again and you will have come through it with increased wisdom and have grown closer to God.

Have a blessed day!!

MARRIAGE

Greetings!

Sorry for late blogging today! Hope you are having a wonderful day so far!

I wanted to send a different message today, but something kept pulling me towards a message about marriage....so here goes!

There seems to be a simple recipe to a happy and long lasting marriage. But society has complicated it so much that we can't see the simplicity of it anymore!

Spend all your time and effort loving, honoring, respecting and pleasing your spouse.
That's it! This is all you have to do!

Don't spend your time worrying about if your spouse is making you happy, that's not why you entered into marriage. You married the person you love because you love who they are and if you pour out all your love on them, they in turn shower you with their love.

If you plant a flower, you have to give it what it needs, water and sunlight so it will grow. If you neglect to do this, it will wither and die. But if you give it the care and attention it needs, it will give off the beauty you wanted from it!

You can only receive from your marriage what you put into it....

This is something I have learned and lived and I have been married for 21 years....it's working so far!

Attached is a picture of me and my husband.

Have a wonderful day!

STRENGTH

Greetings!!

Permanence, perseverance, and persistence in spite
of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities:
It is this that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.
Sir Francis Drake

This is a great truth.
As I look back at my life I realize that all the difficult times and struggles I went through were actually building blocks for the strength I needed to get through the next obstacle. And they have also equipped me to help others though their trying times. So now when I have a hard hill to climb, I embrace it as I know it will bring me growth, maturity, wisdom and strength.

God does this for us and to us. He is preparing us for great accomplishments for His Kingdom both here on earth and in Heaven. We have to go through "training" to gain our strength!

Like many people say, "If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it."
This is so true, God is always by your side every step of the way, guiding you and encouraging you to keep persevering.

Blessed is the man who keeps going on when times are hard.
JAMES 1:12 NIrV

Have a wonderful day!
Be strong!

YOUR LIFE

Greetings!
And sorry for my tardiness, I usually put this up early in the morning....

I don't have prepared today what I would have wished for, but here is a great quote below.

Let God have your life;
He can do more with it than you can!

HAPPY MONDAY

Happy Monday!!

I have wrote before about changing our perspectives....here's a great example of that.
Before I used to dread Mondays, like most people....
But since I have changed the way I look at life, being thankful for being so blessed, and seeing each day as a brand new start to make improvements and live a better life, I now actually look forward to starting a new week, just as I look forward to each new day!

Below is a great quote that says so well a great truth!

The more we count the blessings we have, the less we crave the luxuries we haven't.
William Arthur Ward

By the way, I am especially thankful today for my wonderful husband, who was so helpful to me yesterday and sent me a beautiful comment on yesterday's blog.
He is one of the most precious gifts God has given me!

Have a wonderful day!

GREAT WORDS & THANKS

Greetings!

Today, just a few quotes by Eleanor Roosevelt.

Many people will walk in and our of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

To handle yourself, use your head. To handle others, use your heart.

Great minds discuss ideas.
Average minds discuss events.
Small minds discuss people.

He who loses money, loses much
He who loses a friend, loses much more.
He who loses faith, loses all.

I wish you an awesome day!!

Yesterday was awesome for me, I was blessed to be able to spend the day with a group of Christians who minister to the homeless. For this experience, I am so very thankful!

SMILE AND BE THANKFUL

Greetings!

I don't have the inspirational message to share today that I want, but I have found a great quote by Mother Theresa to share with you.

I also want to keep reminding everyone to be thankful everyday... and so I will list some things I am thankful for each day, to help others find their blessings too!

Today I am thankful for the energy to finally get up and work out.
I am thankful for the hot shower that felt so good when I was finished exercising.
I am thankful for being able to wake up to my granddaughter kissing me goodbye before she went to school....what a beautiful way to start the day!
And I am thankful for the nice evening I spent with my husband.

We shall never know all the good
that a simple smile can do.
-- Mother Theresa

Have a great day!!

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go.
1 of 2 things will happen, He will catch you when you fall or He will teach you how to fly!
God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close.
God can shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor.

Have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing...
