Beautiful Promise - 1

God makes such wonderful, beautiful promises to us!

Here is one of God's peace for us, which transcends all understanding!

Philippians 4:4-7 

"Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again:  Rejoice!   Let you gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ."

This is a beautiful poem written by a wonderful poet I am blessed to know!

GOD IS VERY PRESENT

Greetings!

Again and again, God shows me how He is intimately present in my life...it is so amazing, there are no words to fully describe it!

Yesterday I was struggling with having that complete faith in Him I am supposed to....  I get so caught up in my anxieties and worry and forget to let them all go and give them to God and trust He will take care of it in His time and in His own way.

I was praying to God yesterday, asking Him to remind me of how I need to have more faith and and let go of all my worries and lean on Him completely.  I asked Him to remind me loud and clear and often.   Turns out He was standing right next to me while I was crying out to Him!!

A few minutes after I finished praying I received an e-mail from a new friend of mine with the following verse in it.  (We had not previously discussed this struggle of mine , she knew nothing about it)

Philippians 4:4-7

And as if this wasn't amazing in itself...showing me He is faithful in answering prayer...  Later in the evening I went to read my daily devotional book as I usually do.  The page for that day was titled "God of Promise" and began with "What is on your Great list of things to worry about?"  Then continues with "Over 300 times in the New Testament God commands us not to be anxious"  And finally, there it was....the same verse as above which my friend had sent me earlier in the day!!  Absolutely amazing, how He is reminding me of what I need to hear and exactly how I asked to be reminded!

Isn't it a great comfort to know we have a God who is present in our lives so intimately?  And always right there when we need Him most and ready to give us what we need....there's nothing in this world that can compare to our awesome God!!

REJOICE!

Greetings!

I thought these verses from Psalm 30 are a nice way to start the new year off.
Giving thanks and praise to God for all the blessings He gives us!


Psalm 30: 1-5

I will exalt you, O Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.

O Lord my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.

O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;
you spared me from going down into the pit.

Sing to the Lord, you saints of His;
praise His holy name.
For His anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Greetings and Happy New Year!!

Many of us decide to make positive changes in our lives on New Year's Day.
We make those famous New Year's Resolutions!

Of course positive changes are always a good thing. But we don't have to wait until January 1st to make those changes. And if at some point, we get off the track we intended to be on, we don't have to wait until the following new year to get back on track.

God is always waiting for us to decide to turn our lives around and our attention to Him.
He doesn't make us wait until the beginning of the calendar year.
When we do look towards Him for a new beginning, whenever or wherever it happens, He is right there with encouragement, support and guidance!

As I look back on 2008, I am ever so grateful for God's saving grace!
I made a fresh new start in my life back in July of 2008...when I chose to welcome God back into my life. I decided to leave behind the empty life I was living...and turned instead to God's daily supply of love and joy!

I pray that those of you who don't know Jesus as your personal savior, would come to accept this wonderful gift this year! If you are not sure how, you can post a comment here to ask me and I will happy to explain it to you.

If you have already been saved, I pray you continue to renew your relationship with God daily, so it will strengthen and grow and be fruitful!

SAND AND STONE

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING

THROUGH THE DESERT.

DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY,

THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT;

AND ONE FRIEND

SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE

IN THE FACE

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT,
BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING,

WROTE IN THE SAND,

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE

THEY KEPT ON WALKING UNTIL

THEY FOUND AN OASIS

WHERE THEY DECIDED

TO TAKE A BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED
GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE

AND STARTED DROWNING.

BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED
FROM

THE NEAR DROWNING,

HE WROTE ON A STONE:

'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SAVED MY LIFE'

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED

AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU,

YOU WROTE IN THE SAND
AND NOW,

YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?'

THE FRIEND REPLIED

'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US

WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND,
WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS
CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES

SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,

WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE

WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT'

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS

IN T HE SAND

AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS
IN STONE.
